Barry Kiely, CEO.
Barry has over 25 years of experience in the microbiome field and is one of the original founders of the Alimentary Health Group. During this time he has grown the company to profitability and developed partnerships with leaders in the microbiome field. He played a key role in the discovery of bifidobacterium longum 35624®, now the No 1 recommended probiotic by US Gastroenterologists and Doctors* and bifidobacterium longum 1714®, now showing compelling evidence of gut-brain activity. Prior to founding the company, he was General Manager of BioResearch Ireland’s National Food Biotechnology Centre and R&D Manager of International Biochemicals, part of Royal Dutch Shell. Barry completed his degree and Ph.D at University College Cork in the field of microbiology.
Chief Financial Officer.
Brian brings over 25 years of industry finance experience to the Alimentary Health team, working in a variety of sectors including Food, Technology and Resources, including senior roles with large indigenous and U.S multinational companies. He has successfully led financial operations teams during periods of rapid company expansion and been instrumental in identifying and negotiating strategic opportunities and partnerships. His wide Corporate Finance experience includes the raising of significant equity and debt finance for both private and public companies and he has successfully managed the listing of a number of companies on the public markets in London, Dublin and Toronto. In addition to his CFO role Brian also manages the Group’s business in Ireland. Brian is a qualified Chartered Accountant and an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute.
Steve has extensive experience across several healthcare sectors including pharmaceuticals, medical imaging and healthcare recruitment. He brings his strategic and operational management expertise to Alimentary Health & PrecisionBiotics having already built and led multinational/multifunctional teams to create new business or transform existing businesses in several regions including Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Production and Logistics Director.
Jack leads Production and Supply Chain Operations for the Alimentary Health Group, ensuring supply for our global network of customers and partners. Prior to joining AHG, Jack was Engineering Director for Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals, leading global engineering projects across 5 manufacturing sites in Ireland. Jack has over 40 years production experience in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare business.
Sara leads Marketing for Alimentary Health's product portfolio and pipeline. She has over 20 years experience in the Healthcare industry, including roles as Global Marketing Director with Pfizer and senior roles in GSK and the medical devices industry in Ireland, the UK and France.
Director, Business Development, International.
Alexandre is the International Business Development Director for AHG, locating and working with distributors all over the world. Prior to joining AHG, Alexandre had Business Development Director roles with Mayoly Spindler, Biocodex and Theramex in Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Asia and Latin America. He has over 20 years experience in healthcare partnerships in the probiotics industry and is Board Member of the French Healthcare Exporters Association (GEIP).
Eileen leads Alimentary Health's R&D and Regulatory teams and is responsible for our extensive clinical program. She has over 10 years experience in microbiome R&D and has a strong track record in turning microbiome science into clinical solutions and successful product innovations. She has published in key journals such as GUT, Gastroenterology and PNAS. Prior to joining AHG, Eileen was a key member of the Host Response Group of the APC Microbiome Ireland limentary Pharmabiotic Centre (APC) at University College Cork, one of the world’s leading centres of microbiome research. Eileen obtained her degree and PhD. from University College Cork, being awarded a fellowship from the National University of Ireland as well as sponsorship from the European NutriGenomics Organisation (NuGO).
Liz O'Brien, Head of Corporate Services.
Liz is Head of Corporate Services, co-ordinating with and supporting the CEO, CFO and Board of Directors in Corporate operations. She also leads the HR and Administration functions for AHG. Liz was a founder employee of the company, joining on its formation in 1999.
Jenny is Head of Intellectual Property at Alimentary Health Group focussing on the strategic filing and defence of AHG’s IP (Patents and Trademarks) around the globe. She is an experienced start-up executive with 20 years experience in IP and Operations. Prior to AHG, Jenny was a Partner at a start-up Financial Brokerage in London, FOR Securities. She also worked with Imperial Innovations in company creation including successfully spinning-out a diagnostics company. She is a graduate of University College Cork, a Chevening Scholar and has a PhD from Cambridge University followed by a Wellcome Fellowship in University College London.
Carmel is Compliance Director for AHG. She has over 20 years of Clinical Research and Operations Management experience, specializing in Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Healthcare audits and compliance. Prior to joining AHG, Carmel worked for Minerva and the Quintile Group, holding several senior management positions in Clinical Operations & Regulatory. Carmel trained as a RGN in Cork & RM in UK before moving into Clinical Research & Development in a CRO and Biotechnology company.
