The Board of Alimentary Health Group combines depth of scientific oversight with commercial and venture capital experience.
Maurice is Chair of the AHG Board. He also serves as a Director of the Ireland US Council. He has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, including roles as Vice President Manufacturing, Pfizer, Managing Director Global Healthcare Partners, DLJ Merchant Banking Group, Chief Executive Officer Next Pharma Technologies and FAMAR, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Marinopoulos Group.
Barry Kiely, CEO.
Barry Kiely, CEO. Barry has over 25 years of experience in the microbiome field and is one of the original founders of the Alimentary Health Group. During this time he has grown the company to profitability and developed partnerships with leaders in the microbiome field. He played a key role in the discovery of bifidobacterium longum 35624(R), now the No 1 recommended probiotic by US Gastroenterologists and Doctors and bifidobacterium longum 1714(TM), now showing compelling evidence of gut-brain activity. Prior to founding the company, he was General Manager of BioResearch Ireland’s National Food Biotechnology Centre and R&D Manager of International Biochemicals, part of Royal Dutch Shell. Barry completed his degree and Ph.D at University College Cork in the field of microbiology.
Chief Financial Officer.
Brian brings over 25 years of industry finance experience to the Alimentary Health team, working in a variety of sectors including Food, Technology and Resources, including senior roles with large indigenous and U.S multinational companies. He has successfully led financial operations teams during periods of rapid company expansion and been instrumental in identifying and negotiating strategic opportunities and partnerships. His wide Corporate Finance experience includes the raising of significant equity and debt finance for both private and public companies and he has successfully managed the listing of a number of companies on the public markets in London, Dublin and Toronto. In addition to his CFO role Brian also manages the Group’s business in Ireland. Brian is a qualified Chartered Accountant and an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute.
Emmet has a proven track record of delivering growth and value creation in some of the world’s largest life science companies. He is currently CEO of Nuritas, a company revolutionizing ingredient and pharmaceutical discovery through Artificial Intelligence. Emmet has more than 25 years global experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and nutrition industries in senior positions including Regional President Pfizer Nutritionals for Europe, Pacific Rim & Emerging Markets, Managing Director for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Ireland and President of Transition and Integration for Nestle. Emmet is the former Chairman of Blanchardstown Institute of Technology and was Vice President of the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association.
Harry A. Cockrell
Managing Director of Pacific Tiger Group, a Hong Kong-based privately held investment group with a wide range of businesses and assets across the Asia/Pacific region since 1978. Director of Pathfinder Investment Holdings Corp, a Philippines real estate management group. Former director of Hanesbrands Inc, and former investment committee member of Asian Infrastructure Fund. Prior to that, Director of Corporate Banking for the National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia and banking advisor for Middle Eastern and Asian interests. Holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian Studies from Seton Hall University and an M.B.A. from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, where he served as a trustee. Member of the Board of Sonoco Products Co since 2013 where he serves as a member of the Financial Policy Committee and the Compensation Committee of the Board.
Charles is Emeritus Professor of Food Science and Technology at University College, Cork. His main research interests are in food fermentation and food safety. He has an active record of participation in national and EU Framework Research Programmes and has served as coordinator of major transnational EU food biotechnology projects. Professor Daly has received international awards from the American Dairy Science Association, the Danone Foundation, the Dutch Dairy Nutrition Foundation and the International Union of Food Science Associations. He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Dairying) from University College Cork and Ph.D. in Food Microbiology from Oregon State University, USA.
