Why
Partner with AH?
AH
has its own research and development programme.
Building on the successful clinical effects seen in IBS
for Bif 35624, AH scientists have identified putative
components from the organism and other probiotic strains,
which in themselves may have therapeutic benefit. These
will be progressed as candidate therapeutics in the inflammation
and infection disease areas.
AH
has a research agreement with the Alimentary
Pharmabiotic Centre (APC), an industry academe
research initiative set up by the Irish Government in
2003. This centre received a grant of €16.5m from government
for the period 2003 – 2008 and it is expected to generate
novel biopharmaceutical candidates, which AH intends to
licence for clinical and commercial development. This
association is an important aspect of AH’s pipeline research
strategy.
AH
operates a successful patent strategy to protect its intellectual
property. Patent applications have been filed and
funded to nationalisation phase in a significant number
of key Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) countries including
in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
AH
has product production knowledge and extensive contacts
with leading manufacturing, formulation, packaging and
distribution companies to facilitate future supply & commercialisation.
