Since 1990, the AH technology research programme has focussed on the isolation, characterisation and clinical evaluation of probiotic bacteria in inflammatory and infections conditions.

AH’s commercial focus has been on developing therapeutic probiotic bacteria and their components for the management of gastrointestinal ("GI") disease, particularly IBS, infectious diarrhoeas ("ID"), and inflammatory diseases such as IBD.

This largely reflects the clinical and scientific strength of the AH founding scientists who specialise in the area of GI medicine, immunology and microbiology.
