Accounts Assistant

Alimentary Health Group, headquartered in Cork, is recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join its growing team. Alimentary Health (AH) is an innovative Irish healthcare company and a global pioneer in discovery, development and commercialisation of proprietary probiotic and pharmabiotic treatments. We have a leading range of consumer healthcare products and an exciting new product portfolio. AH is a rapidly expanding and dynamic company and this is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced environment.  Supporting the Finance Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for debtors ledger and bank reconciliations primarily.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:‚Äč

  • Daily bank postings and weekly reconciliations

  • Assisting with accounts payable

  • Reconciliation of credit card receipts to credit card statement and ensuring all are authorised

  • Setting up customer accounts

  • Management of petty cash and cash sales

  • Assisting the Accountant with the preparation of monthly management accounts

  • Creation of Purchase Orders

  • Creation of sales invoices and packing lists

  • Corresponding with statutory bodies for Receipt of Certificate of Origin and Export Licenses

  • Assisting the finance team with the implementation of new systems

  • Other ad hoc or project work as required by the Accountant or CFO

 

 

Key Skills:

  • 3 years’ experience in a finance department preferable

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and an accounts package (Sage an advantage)

  • An ability to learn quickly, have a good eye for detail & work on own initiative

  • Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.

  • Have the ability to work in a busy challenging environment.

  • Be enthusiastic and willing to get involved in the different areas of the business.

  • Possess attention to detail and a high level of accuracy with numbers

  • IATI Qualified/Business Studies Certificate or equivalent.  If not IATI qualified, the candidate would be required to have very strong accounts experience.
