Sales Director (UK)


Alimentary Health (AH) is an innovative Irish healthcare company and a global pioneer in discovery, development and commercialisation of proprietary probiotic and pharmabiotic treatments. AH's mission is to develop clinically supported probiotic healthcare and nutritional products that health professionals can believe in and feel confident to recommend. Having achieved leadership with our flagship product Alflorex® in Ireland and with a range of new products on the horizon, we are looking to recruit a Sales Director to scale up our UK Business and drive sales in this high potential market.

The successful candidate will be based in UK South and will leverage Trade opportunities both with leading Retail Healthcare chains (Pharmacy and FMCG) & Pharmacy Distributors and proactively establish high profile relationships with them.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver revenues and profitability in line with Company strategy and financial targets.

  • Develop and deliver an ambitious business development and sales plan to maximize UK growth.

  • Work with the Marketing Director in developing our 3 year commercial strategy and annual commercial plans for the UK.

  • Establish and maintain superior customer relationships with each Buyer and at Senior Management levels across leading Top 5 Healthcare retail partners (Pharmacy & FMCG, CPG) to deliver profitable relationships.

  • Plan, develop, agree and implement a joint business plan and annual activity plan with each of these key customers to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.

  • Negotiate new listings for our range of new products.

  • Develop reporting tools to provide regular performance updates including promotional evaluation.

  • Partner with our Medical team to engage with a network of Key Opinion Leaders to increase awareness and trial of company products.



  • Proven ability to deliver against sales targets.

  • Ambition to own this role and drive our business to further success.

  • An experienced, results-orientated self-starter with strong communication skills and entrepreneurial flair who will build strong relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Flexible Team player, who will enjoy and thrive in a busy growing environment.

  • Organised with the ability to work remotely and independently whilst maintaining contact and the confidence of key stakeholders.



  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • 5+ years relevant experience in Sales (Consumer Healthcare, FMCG, Retail Pharmacy) including National Account Manager (NAM or Key Account Manager) or in Business Development, Consultancy or Retail.

  • Experience of working with National/Large Accounts and other 3rd party partners including distributors.

  • Experience in e-commerce an advantage
